Admittedly, the best-sounding setup I had while testing the X7 was when I was using a pair of ultra-fine Cambridge SoundWorks speakers lent to TechRadar by Creative. When I switched to something a little more plausible, like the Razer Leviathan sound bar, the difference in sound quality was less pronounced. Ultimately, your experience with the X7 will depend on what speakers you're willing to shell out for. Sadly the X7 can't do much for the cheapo pair of 5W Logitech speakers you get with the purchase of a new PC. I went on to test the X7 with a sound bar, a pair of bookshelf speakers, Klipsch earbuds. Each time, the music sounded better through the amp than it did coming directly through my phone, but the difference in most cases was minimal.
The Sound Blaster promises much but fails to shine. It’s a decent performer but is easily bettered by the likes of NAD’s D3020 We’re astonished at just how much Creative has packed into the Sound Blaster X7’s distinctive casework. It’s a digital-to-analogue converter and stereo amplifier. I'm using an Astro mixamp so sound mixing together can happen in strange ways in the speaker settings, but I've figured it all out to where I'm quite happy with it after a bit of elbow grease. I know what I need for more bass, what I need for gaming, etc. The last study I have to do is different type of surround sound settings.

It is both powerful and versatile and supports many types of input. Strongly recommended to purchase this product together with the E-MU X7 speakers for a more wholesome experience. 4.5 out of 5. Ross Well so far so good. I haven't had much time to use the product however I have used the Bluetooth which connects to my Galaxy and it came alive like no other pairing with the E-MU XM7 speakers.

The front of this black device (also available in limited-edition white) is dominated by a large metallic volume knob, which sadly doesn't light up. Below is a honeycomb grille that hides the onboard noise-canceling microphone and two buttons: a Power/Bluetooth toggle and and an SBX enhancer control. At the very bottom lives a 3.5mm microphone input plus a 3.5mm and a ¼-inch output.
